spring exploded in our garden

This week we went from cool spring to sudden summer overnight. Two days of record heat brought a quick crisp to the early blooming hyacinths, narcissus and tulips. Then the later bloomers popped open with a bang we almost heard in the house. We had to install the AC units and Keith began lugging water buckets to the garden flower & tree pots because the water isn't turned on yet to our faucets. Rain and cooler temperatures are due to return tonight but I wore short pants, sandals and I sat out in the garden for the first time this year to write my morning journal.
Here are a bunch of the flowers in our garden showing what they do...

Thanks for sharing. My garden is so behind this year. I cant believe we will be heading into May soon and not a leaf to be had.
I have white dafs like yours are they thalia?
Mine have the tiniest buds :(

What gorgeous blooms! I'm very envious - I can't even keep herbs alive!

Selfsewn Claire: White Daffodils are Thalia with the multi blooms but we have the traditional shaped ones in white too. They came out a while back right after our big yellows got started. Sorry your garden is going slow. I bet it will burst forth with a heat wave soon.

Jessie: It would be great to share a morning with my quilter friends like you at our table. We were so lucky to have a landlord the last 10 years who lets us plant in the yard as much as we wanted.

Linda F.: Thanks let us see some of your favorite flowers too!

Heather: You should try planting some bulbs. Once they are in the ground you don't have to worry about them, only pinch the dead heads off to build bulb food for next years blooms! Herbs are much more particular....
